Job summary

A leading manufacturer of steel products in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Accounting professional to manage full sets of accounts and financial reporting. Ideal candidates will have a diploma or degree in Accounting, with 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting. Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software are essential. The position offers a supportive and vibrant office environment.

Qualifications

  • At least 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting software.

Responsibilities

  • Handle full set of accounts including GL, AP, AR, and Fixed Assets.
  • Perform monthly closings and prepare management reports.
  • Process invoices, staff claims and ensure proper documentation.
  • Liaise with external auditors and statutory authorities.
  • Assist in tax computations and SST submissions.
  • Support inventory costing and stock reconciliations.
  • Participate in budgeting and cash flow forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with MFRS and internal controls.
  • Identify and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

You will be exposed to the full spectrum of accounting functions in a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include:

  • Handle full set of accounts, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets, and monthly reconciliations
  • Perform monthly closings, prepare management reports, financial schedules, and assist in year-end finalisation
  • Process invoices, staff claims, journal entries, and ensure proper accounting documentation with laser accurate precision
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, and statutory authorities to ensure timely compliance
  • Assist in tax computations, SST submissions, and related reporting
  • Support inventory costing, stock reconciliations, and manufacturing cost allocations
  • Participate in budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and capex tracking
  • Ensure compliance with MFRS, internal controls, and Bursa Malaysia requirements
  • Identify and contribute to process improvement initiatives and support automation/digitalisation
Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline

At least 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Autocount)

Strong attention to detail and time management

Good analytical, communication, and leadership skills
