Job Description: Senior Accountant (Regional Focus)
About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and ACCA Certified Accountant to join our finance team. This is a unique opportunity for a professional who is proficient in Malaysia and Singapore accounting standards and is ready to expand their expertise into the China market.

You will play a hands‑on role in managing regional accounts and tax compliance. This position requires a collaborative team player who is willing to travel overseas to gain exposure and ensure smooth cross‑border operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Regional Operations

Manage full sets of accounts (AP, AR, GL) for entities in Malaysia and Singapore.

Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and variance analysis ensuring compliance with MPERS/MFRS and SFRS.

Collaboration: Work closely with internal team members, sales teams, and operational staff to ensure data accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and "get things done" efficiently.

Participate in finance meetings and actively contribute ideas to streamline regional processes.

2. Cross-Border Tax Compliance

Malaysia & Singapore: Handle SST, Corporate Income Tax (CP204), Withholding Tax, and Singapore GST filing.

China (Learning Mandate): Actively learn China’s tax framework (VAT, CIT, and Individual Income Tax) and accounting to assist with future compliance implementations.

Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and company secretaries across all three jurisdictions.

3. Travel & Stakeholder Management

Overseas Travel: You are required and expected to travel overseas (Singapore/China) periodically for work assignments, training, and operational exposure.

Build strong relationships with regional stakeholders during site visits.

Requirements

Certification: Must be ACCA Certified (Member or Affiliate).

Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.

English: Professional proficiency required.

Mandarin: Strictly Required (Written & Spoken). You must be able to read China tax invoices (Fapiao), interpret Chinese tax laws, and communicate effectively with China tax bureaus and local counterparts.

Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Malaysia & Singapore tax laws (SST & GST).

Willingness to Travel: Be willing to travel internationally for work and exposure as required.

Soft Skills: A strong team player with a "can-do" attitude. You must be able to work with team members across different departments to drive results and solve problems.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days work‑from‑home).

Travel: Travel expenses and allowances provided for overseas assignments.
