A financial services company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Finance Executive to independently manage the full set of accounts and ensure compliance with internal policies and local statutory requirements. The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within the hospitality industry, and holds a diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential. This role offers opportunities for growth and learning in a dynamic environment.
Independently manage the full set of accounts including journal entries, general ledger, accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and bank reconciliations.
Track and record payments from OTA platforms (Agoda, Booking.com etc.) and walk-in guests.
Ensure all transactions comply with internal policies and local statutory requirements (SST, LHDN).
Review daily revenue reports or night audit summaries to ensure accuracy.
Verify all modes of payment (cash, credit card, e-wallet) and resolve discrepancies.
Reconcile hotel operation system data (Ezee) with the accounting system (Exact Globe).
Assist in month-end closing activities including accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations.
Prepare basic financial reports such as Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and balance sheets.
Support external accountants or auditors by providing required documentation.
Prepare and submit SST filings accurately and on time.
Liaise with the company secretary and tax agent for statutory submissions and compliance.
Maintain systematic, organized filing of financial documents (invoices, receipts, contracts, etc.).
Ensure records are well-documented and audit-ready.
Perform other finance-related tasks assigned by the Finance Manager or superior, including system upgrades or basic cost analysis.
Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent qualification.
ACCA, CIMA, or other professional accounting certification will be an added advantage.
Minimum 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience; hospitality industry experience is an added advantage.
Experience handling full set of accounts.
Good understanding of SST, basic tax requirements, and statutory compliance.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently.
Able to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
