A growing accounting firm in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is seeking a Senior Account Executive to maintain financial records and support the accounting team. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in an accounting role and a relevant qualification. Proficiency in accounting software and strong problem-solving skills are essential. Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Account Assistant role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and applicable laws.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) is an added advantage.

About the role

As a Senior Account Executive at Green Borneast Sdn Bhd, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial records and ensuring the smooth operational functioning of the company's accounting processes. This full-time position is based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, and offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in the Accounting and Bookkeeping industry.

What you'll be doing
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
  • Reconciling bank statements and ensuring the accuracy of all financial transactions
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and local tax regulations
  • Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Providing administrative support to the Accounting team, including data entry, filing, and document management
  • Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve any financial discrepancies or queries
  • Collaborating with the Accounting Manager to implement and maintain effective financial controls and procedures
  • Staying informed of changes in accounting regulations and best practices, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the company's financial processes
What we're looking for
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Account Assistant role, preferably in a small to medium‑sized accounting practice
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in using accounting software, such as Autocount and Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and adaptable approach
  • Relevant educational qualifications in accounting or a related field, such as a Diploma or Degree
  • Knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) is an added advantage
