Job description

The Senior Account Executive is responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks to support the Account/Finance Department. This role ensures accurate recording of financial transactions, maintains general ledgers, assists in financial reporting, and supports month-end and year-end close processes. The Senior Account Executive also oversees and checks the work of junior clerks where necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers, ensuring timely posting of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions.
  • Verify, allocate, and record financial transactions into appropriate journals and accounting systems.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
  • Manage and reconcile stock records, fixed assets, and other related accounts.
  • Oversee petty cash management and review staff expense claims for accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and process payment vouchers, invoices, and other supporting documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to company accounting policies, standards, and all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to junior accounting staff in daily operations.
  • Safeguard sensitive financial information and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc duties or special assignments as directed by management.
Job Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 2-5 years relevant working experience.
  • Proficient in accounting software (i.e. AutoCount or similar), Microsoft Office Tools and any AI tools (i.e. ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and others).
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
