A leading energy firm in Malaysia is seeking a detail-oriented individual for an accounting role. The successful candidate will handle financial reporting, manage daily accounting operations, and assist with budgeting and cash flow forecasting. Preferred candidates have at least 4 years of accounting experience and a degree in Accounting. Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office and AutoCount will be advantageous. This position requires effective communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling full spectrum accounting functions, financial reporting, and supporting key finance operations in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts in compliance with company policies, approved accounting standards, and statutory tax regulations.
Oversee daily accounting operations, including billing, collection, claim verification, payments, fund transfers, bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and general bookkeeping.
Generate monthly management reports, analyzing variances between actual performance, budget, and previous year’s results.
Execute various operational finance functions, supporting day-to-day financial activities.
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and support ongoing budget control and monitoring.
Perform cash flow forecasting and ensure continuous monitoring and control of company liquidity.
Assist with audit, tax, company secretarial, and banking matters, acting as liaison with external auditors, tax agents, and financial institutions.
Review internal accounting and operational procedures, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Undertake ad-hoc assignments and projects as assigned by the Head of Department.
Qualifications/Requirement:
Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
At least 4 years of accounting experience.
Knowledge in prior audit, Microsoft Office and AutoCount will be added advantage.
Has good command of English and is able to communicate effectively to various levels of people, internal and external.
Able to work under pressure and proactively meet deadlines.
