Job summary

POET Technologies Inc. in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a PQE to monitor and improve quality of operational processes in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

The incumbent inspects materials and products, analyzes quality data, and ensures production meets internal standards and external regulations throughout the product lifecycle. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 1-3 years of quality experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Knowledge of quality tools (FMEA, 8D, 5 Whys, SPC, MSA, PPAP) and AQL sampling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain product quality standards, control plans, and inspection procedures.
• Perform incoming, in-process, and outgoing product inspections.
• Analyze quality data to identify defect trends and improvement opportunities.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement CAPA.
• Support New Product Development (NPD) to ensure quality requirements are integrated.
• Support product failure investigations and supplier quality issue resolution.
• Maintain quality documentation (FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, SPC records).
• Support audits and drive continuous improvement to improve yield and reduce defects.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to verify product conformance.
• Maintain compliance with ISO, customer, and semiconductor industry standards (e.g., JEDEC, IPC, Mil-STD).
