Job summary

Wolfspeed in Ipoh, Malaysia, seeks a Backend Supplier Quality Engineer to manage and improve the quality performance of backend suppliers, including captive lines and OSAT partners. You will drive supplier quality through KPI monitoring, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring robust process control and zero-defect execution.

You will lead APQP/PPAP readiness, audits, change management, and supplier issue resolution using structured problem-solving (8D, 5-Why, DOE).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in Supplier Quality / Manufacturing Quality.
• Experience with OSAT and semiconductor backend processes.
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 quality system.
• Familiar with AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary quality interface for captive lines and OSAT suppliers.
• Drive supplier quality performance via KPI monitoring and corrective actions.
• Lead supplier qualification, process audits, and compliance reviews.
• Review and approve Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, WIs and inspections.
• Support APQP/PPAP/Safe Launch/Change Management for new products/technologies.
• Lead supplier issue resolution using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, DOE, and statistics.
• Ensure MSA, SPC, process capability monitoring, and action verification.
• Coordinate containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Support internal, supplier, and customer audits including closure of findings.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Reliability, Purchasing, and Programs to drive quality excellence.
• Monitor supplier risk and provide quality updates to management.
