A luxury hotel in Kuching is seeking a Security Manager to oversee security operations and ensure compliance with local regulations and brand standards. The ideal candidate will have 4 years of experience in security and safety, preferably in a supervisory role, with a strong ability to train and motivate security personnel. This position is key to maintaining a safe environment for guests and employees while contributing to sustainability initiatives.

Oversee the Security function to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and the property. Ensure full compliance with local regulations, OSHA standards, hotel emergency procedures, brand standards, and internal policies. Actively contribute to sustainability initiatives and serve as a member of the Halal Certification Committee.
Build strong relationships with community and government representatives.
Coordinate and manage day-to-day security operations, including planning, monitoring, and controlling departmental activities.
Develop and implement departmental standards, ensuring high-quality patrolling, inspection, and monitoring and observations duties.
Maintain discipline, loyalty, and adherence to policies among security personnel.
Supervise emergency drills and deliver Fire Life Safety Training.
Train senior security colleagues in leadership and operational excellence.
Review reports, analyze incidents, and implement action plans.
Ensure Riskconnect records are up to date according to brand standards, including near misses and incidents.
Prepare security plans for events and coordinate with protocol for official visits.
Collaborate with HR on manpower planning and with Finance on budgeting.
Conduct and update risk assessments, proactively addressing hazards.
Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements.
Support HR in internal investigations, ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU?
Required Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills with customers, colleagues, and external partners.
Certification in safety, training, or licensure as a Security Officer/Law Enforcement Officer preferred. CPR/First Aid certification and law enforcement training a plus.
Knowledge of local laws, investigation methods, OSHA regulations, and fire/life safety codes.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, motivational, and training abilities.

College or vocational training
Experience
4 years of security and safety experience and/or military/law enforcement experience, including supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
