Job summary

TNG Digital Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Specialist, Security Operations to monitor and secure our IT environment across on-prem and cloud. The role will detect threats and drive security improvements to our posture.

You will coordinate with engineering and IT teams, respond to incidents, analyze security events, and apply threat intelligence. A 3–5 year background in cloud security and a related degree are required; familiarity with SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and cloud platforms is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Degree in IT security related field preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in cloud security or related fields.
• Basic understanding of IT security technologies, processes, and controls.
• Familiarity with Linux and networking concepts.
• Ability to develop simple scripts using Shell, Python, or C/C++.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Regular security monitoring and assessment across TNGD infrastructures, mainly business network, systems and applications.
• Identify gaps, harden and improve overall security posture of business network, system and applications.
• Ensure changes or deployments adhere to security best practices.
• Monitor and analyze security events, logs, and network traffic across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Implement, monitor, and enhance Data Loss Prevention (DLP) controls.
• Respond to security incidents following established incident response procedures and playbooks.
• Investigate and document security incidents, including root cause analysis and lessons learned.
• Utilize SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, firewalls, and cloud security platforms to detect and mitigate threats.
• Maintain and configure security tools to optimize detection and response capabilities.
• Apply threat intelligence data to enhance security posture and incident response capabilities.
• Keep abreast with emerging cybersecurity threats and industry developments.
