JOB PURPOSE

Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive security programs to safeguard company assets, personnel, and information, ensuring a safe and secure environment across all facilities while maintaining compliance with relevant security regulations and standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures to protect company assets, employees, and information.
  • Regularly review and update security plans to address emerging threats and ensure alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead security risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of security systems, including CCTV, access controls, alarms, and perimeter security.
  • Drive coordination of physical security measures, including facility access control, visitor management, and emergency response planning.
  • Assess and manage the proper functioning of security equipment and systems, conducting regular inspections and upgrades as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans to address potential security incidents, including theft, vandalism, natural disasters, and workplace violence.
  • Lead the coordination of emergency drills, training sessions, and crisis management exercises to ensure staff preparedness.
  • Act as the primary point of contact during emergencies, coordinating with external agencies (e.g., police, fire department) as needed.
  • Design and deliver security training programs for employees, emphasizing awareness, vigilance, and adherence to security protocols.
  • Promote a culture of security awareness across the organization, ensuring all staff understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe environment.
  • Conduct specialized training for security personnel to enhance their skills in surveillance, incident management, and emergency response.
  • Manage and lead a team of security personnel, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee the management of external security service providers, ensuring service quality and compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Develop and implement protocols for managing and vetting third-party contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Develop a structured process for reporting, documenting, and investigating security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and preventive measures.
  • Coordinate and conduct thorough investigations of security breaches, thefts, and other incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations for future prevention.
  • Maintain an incident management system to track security events and trends, analyzing data to identify patterns and areas for improvement.
  • Assess and monitor compliance with local, national, and international security regulations, standards, and certifications.
  • Maintain updated records of all permits, licenses, and regulatory submissions related to security, and ensure timely renewals.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management on the status of security programs, including assessments of risks, incidents, and mitigation efforts.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the team, ensuring they possess the skills and expertise to execute their roles effectively and contribute to the company's financial stability.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISM) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of marine or oil and gas industry preferable.
  • Experience in security management, risk management, or related roles within corporate or industrial environments.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies and programs that protect organizational assets.
