Job summary

RED Engineering Design in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Security & ICT Engineer to lead security infrastructure design for complex client projects across sectors.

You will produce design packages, mentor juniors, and coordinate with BIM and other disciplines to deliver CAD and Revit models, CCTV planning, and network solutions.

The role emphasizes client liaison, adherence to standards, and proactive problem-solving in a fast-growing APAC presence.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Security & ICT infrastructure design with 2+ years’ experience.
• Alternative: A-Level/HNC/HND or CNIDP with 4+ years’ related experience.
• Experience in data cabling, IT/network systems integration, and multi-disciplinary consulting.
• Knowledge of CCTV design, analytics and BIM coordination tools.

Responsibilities

• Produce security and ICT design packages (reports, drawings, specs).
• Carry out Threat, Vulnerability and Risk Assessments for projects.
• Advise on client security requirements and planning.
• Develop 2D CAD drawings and 3D Revit models with the BIM team.
• Coordinate with electrical/mechanical disciplines and ensure standards compliance.

We are now seeking an experienced Security & ICT Engineer to join our KL office. This is a key client-facing role responsible for leading projects of varying sizes from concept through to delivery. You'll help shape innovative engineering solutions, mentor junior team members, and strengthen our presence in the APAC region.

Job Descriptions

• Responsible for the production of Security & ICT infrastructure design packages, such as, written report documents, drawings, schematics, schedules, technical specifications, procurement packs.
• Responsible for carrying out Threat, Vulnerability And Risk Assessments for client projects
• Responsible for advising and interpreting client requirements in security planning
• Keeping abreast of developments in the security and ICT marketplace
• Responsible for design of CCTV systems including Field of View planning, camera analytics and software planning
• Reviews status advised by project personnel and external parties and modifies schedules or plans as required.
• Prepares project reports for Management, Client or others.
• Represents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional
• teams and contractors’ teams
• Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the RED Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial
• Management, QA/QC and Technical Review perspective
• Day to day decision making on project progress and direct liaison with, and provides advice to client
• Development of 2D CAD design drawings and 3D Revit models in collaboration with the BIM department. An emphasis upon design coordination and clash detection is important.
• Representing RED ICT at technical meetings with customers, professional design teams and contractor teams
• Ensures specifications, drawings and calculations meet industry, legal and quality standards
• Takes holistic view in the selection and application of ICT & Security infrastructure design concepts and solutions
• Coordination of Security & ICT design with related engineering disciplines, e.g. electrical and mechanical
• Work towards a timely successful team output and production
• Develop a clear understanding of client requirements from both a technical and operational standpoint

Experience/Qualifications

Either:

• Engineering degree in appropriate Security & ICT infrastructure design engineering discipline with at least a minimum 2 years’ appropriate experience

Or:

• A-Level secondary education, HNC/HND or CNIDP plusat minimum 4 years appropriate experience.

• Previous project experience in Security & ICT infrastructure for data centre construction; commercial building construction ICT infrastructure
• Technical qualifications and design experience in the following technologies

• Telecommunication Network Infrastructure and Services
• CCTV design, including analytics
• Industry qualifications such as Cisco CCNA, CNet training, Bicsi
• Appreciation of the Security & ICT implications related to MEP building services, network security engineering and power supply and cooling systems
• Ability to use to a high competency level, AutoCAD and Bluebeam (production of overlay drawings, schematics and markups)
• Working knowledgeof Revit is desirable but not essential
• Navigation and interpretation of Navisworks models desirable, but not essential
• Familiarity with BIM levels and processes
• Understanding of design and construction stages from conception to practical completion and LoD required
• Good working knowledge of MS Office applications Word, Excel, Visioetc. Ability to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software
• Good understanding of building design standards/regulations/codesand relevant IT systems certificationstandards
• Ability to prioritise own workload, work to deadlines
• Act in an ethicalmanner and followsthe principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines
• Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation
