A prominent bank in Malaysia is seeking a Section Head for Deposit & Fee-Based Product Development. You will oversee product research and development, ensuring compliance with Shariah requirements and enhancing bank profitability. Responsible to assist Head, Product Research and Development on all aspects of product research, development, enhancement, packaging, and review especially in Deposit and Fee-Based Product Development in order to meet Bank’s profitability, Shariah requirements and regulatory requirements within the Bank’s mandated role.
Execute the overall product origination process in developing and reviewing Agrobank’s products and services.
Organize and/or coordinate with the working committee from the relevant departments/stakeholders in order to execute the product development process.
Guide and supervise team members and subordinates for the end-to-end product development, approval and implementation.
Drive research initiatives on new business prospects and create paths to utilize more untested but acceptable product concepts in a pragmatic way.
Conduct R&D activities and develop a conceptual framework for product development.
Plan and design a new product, packaging and/or related business initiatives with appropriate Shariah concept and ensure compliance with the Bank’s policies and regulatory requirements.
Prepare/Review business proposals and obtain necessary approvals (i.e. Shariah Committee, MRC, ALCO, BRMC, BNM etc., whichever applicable.)
Review the operation manual and/or product guideline and obtain required internal and/or external approval.
Provide product briefing/ training, business support and advisory function.
Ensure that all communications, concurrences, and approvals are obtained based on the SOP in a specific and timely manner.
Address factors/challenges that affect product competitiveness and collaborate with relevant stakeholders (e.g., product developers and business units) to improve utilization of products for new business.
Promote ongoing business improvements to work processes that lead to improvement in product time-to-market.
