The Opportunity (Overview of the role)

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • As Head of Business Studies and Economics, you will:
  • Create both subject and multidisciplinary learning opportunities using your insights into pedagogical approaches for students within the Business Studies and Economics.
  • Create curriculum in a myriad of ways through personalisation, inquiry, problem- based, challenges-based, project-based exploration, hands-on application, problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Cultivate a compassionate learning environment where students are equal and engaged in authentic learning experiences.
  • Lead a team working productively in interdisciplinary synthesis, in order to develop deeper understanding of concepts
  • Build a learning atmosphere that leads students to feel part of a rigorous but joyful learning community
  • Collaborate intensively with colleagues to continually deepen student learning
  • Inspire trust and confidence among parents and families
  • Adhere to the school's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities/duties:

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

You bring all or most of the following:

  • A diverse experience of different international curricula
  • Experience of facilitation and Business Studies and Economics Department of effective group work in dynamic settings
  • Experience with the development of student project based learning, organisational, and research skills necessary to conduct inquiry, problem, project or even phenomena based interdisciplinary learning
  • Personalise guidance for each student based on feedback and needs
  • Create relevant and authentic learning experiences
  • Lead a team who can support students to evidence their learning

As a Business Studies and Economics specialist you will have:

  • Deep knowledge of, and an infectious passion for, a range of Business Studies and Economics content
  • Experience teaching Business Studies and Economics through engaging learning experiences
  • Remarkable entrepreneurial drive, creativity and ability to bring new ideas to fruition
