Job summary

Prysmian is seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance/Quality Control leader for its Malaysian manufacturing footprint. The role guides QA/QC teams to meet management-defined quality targets and liaises with Production, Purchasing, Sales and suppliers on quality issues.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in quality within manufacturing, with strong exposure to QA tools, Six Sigma, Kaizen and Lean practices, and prior MNC experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum engineering degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• 15+ years in quality-related roles within manufacturing environments.
• Experience implementing QA systems, audits and vendor QA programs.
• Familiar with Kaizen, JIT, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

• Lead the QA/QC teams in our factories to achieve quality targets set by Management.
• Interface with Production, Purchasing, Sales and suppliers on Quality issues.
• Recommend stopping production if there is a quality problem on the line.
• Decide disposition of rejected incoming materials, WIP and finished goods.
• Lead cross-functional teams to resolve major Quality issues.
• Drive quality-conscious activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform regular internal audits to ensure compliance and propose changes.
• Prepare monthly reports and quality improvement proposals for Management.
• Establish and maintain quality standards on the production floor per policies.
• Undertake ad-hoc special projects initiated by Management.
• Ability to work in a matrix-type organization.
• Set up and amend quality procedures to achieve higher quality products.
