Overview
The Sales Representative is responsible for driving product sales, expanding market presence, increasing distribution, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring effective execution of sales strategies within assigned territories. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, increasing distribution, seeking new business opportunities, improving product visibility, and supporting the growth of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets (Volume & Value)
- Monitor daily/weekly/monthly sales achievements versus targets
- Identify new business opportunities within the assigned territory
- Execute trade marketing and promotional activities to boost product sales
- Support for Key Account and Non-Key Account sell in and sell out target
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with retailers, distributors, wholesalers, and key accounts
- Conduct daily customer visits to provide services to our customers and monitor stock levels, propose orders, competitor activities, and market trends
- Ensure product availability, visibility, and proper merchandising across outlets and store room
- Participate in trade shows, events, sampling and other marketing events to promote our products in the assigned customer in the territory
- Analyze market trends and competition to identify opportunities for growth in the assigned customer in the territory
- Collaborate with Credit Control to manage customer credit limits and oversee the efficient collection of outstanding payments
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with the customers in the territory to maximize profitability
- 100% coverage and frequency call visits for assigned customers in the territory
- Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally
- Building long-term trust by ensuring consistent service and accountability
- Build and maintain strong relationships with store managers and staff
Operations & Execution
- Collect and process customer orders efficiently
- Coordinate with supply chain/logistics and admin to ensure timely product delivery
- Track inventory levels and prevent stock-outs (OOS) or overstock situations. Ensure First In First Out (FIFO) and manage healthy inventory levels
- Monitor and present reports on sales performance, sales activities, market trends and customer feedback to superiors
- Manage sales budgets and trade expenses, and monitor sales performance against budget
- Undertake any other ad hoc duties, tasks, or projects assigned by the immediate superior when required
- Check stock balance on every visit and communicate replenishment needs
- Conduct stock counts and prevent out-of-stock or overstock situations
- Monitor and check expiry stocks of the stocks on shelves or store room
Merchandising & Display
- Ensure proper product placement according to planograms and brand guidelines
- Maintain clean, attractive, and well-organized shelves and displays
- Install POS materials, promotional signage, and secondary displays
- Monitor expiry dates, remove damaged/expired products, and ensure FIFO practices
- Identify opportunities to gain additional shelf space and improve product placement
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily/weekly sales reports, store inventory reports, collection reports and share trade insights with sales management
- Maintain accurate records of customer visits, sales targets, inventory reports and assigned customer performance
- Provide feedback on customer needs, market developments, and competitor actions
- Take and share photos of the execution and competitor activities to management on daily visits
