We have a global presence, but our headquarters, and the main technical center, are in Porto (Maia), Portugal, where we develop a state-of-the-art solution for Semiconductor, Electronics, Medical Devices, and other Discrete industries.

In 2023, Critical Manufacturing expanded its footprint to Penang, Malaysia.

The Role

We are looking for a high-performing and experienced Sales Manager to help us drive customer acquisition and revenue growth in Malaysia and the surrounding region. This role focuses on selling Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to customers in discrete manufacturing industries. The ideal candidate has a strong background in B2B software sales, particularly in MES, and a proven track record in solution-based selling to mid- to large-scale industrial clients.

What you will do:

  • Own and exceed annual sales targets within the assigned territory
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to drive MES adoption and expand the customer base
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships across technical, operational, and C-level stakeholders
  • Conduct effective product demos, proposals, and commercial negotiations
  • Collaborate closely with Presales, Business Development, Marketing, and Delivery teams
  • Understand industry-specific trends, challenges, and opportunities (especially in high-tech industries such as semiconductor, electronics or other regulated complex manufacturing industries)
  • Provide accurate forecasts and reporting, track performance against targets, and recommend corrective actions as needed
  • Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and trade shows
  • Work independently while staying aligned with company sales strategy

Requirements

What you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial management, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise software sales, preferably in MES or manufacturing solutions
  • Strong track record in solution selling to discrete manufacturing industries
  • Demonstrated ability to manage full sales cycles from lead generation to closure
  • Proven ability to articulate and position MES value propositions against competitor offerings
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills — including ability to influence C-level executives
  • Strong presentation and proposal development skills
  • Proficiency in using CRM tools and MS Office
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Fluent in English (both spoken and written); additional languages such as Mandarin are a plus
  • Willingness to travel regionally as required

What we consider a plus (not mandatory):

  • Background in industrial automation, semiconductor, medical devices, or electronics sectors
  • Experience working in regulated industries
