Job summary

A leading technology company in Malaysia is seeking a Sales Leader for their Energy Industries division. You will develop and implement sales strategies while managing a skilled team to achieve defined sales targets. The ideal candidate should have 10-15 years of experience in the energy sector, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong background in structured sales processes. This role is hybrid and requires excellent communication skills in English and ASEAN languages.

Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of experience in Energy Industries, at least 5 years in senior front‑end sales leadership.
  • Advanced knowledge of ICSS, PMS, SCADA, Telecommunication, and Digital Solutions.
  • Comfortable communicating in English and additional ASEAN languages.

  • Develop and maintain an effective Energy Industries sales strategy within the SEA market.

Role Overview

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and maintain an effective Energy Industries sales strategy within the Southeast Asia (SEA) regional market scope, to improve ABB’s market presence and realize growth aspirations. Each day, you will define, plan, lead, and ensure the execution of sales strategies to meet both qualitative and quantitative sales targets for products, systems, and services, ensuring sustainable order growth, revenue, profitability, market share, sales productivity, and customer satisfaction. You will also showcase your leadership skills by directing, developing, and coaching the Sales organization (sales managers and specialists within scope) to meet sales targets through effective team management.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an effective Energy Industries sales strategy within the SEA market.
  • Define, plan, lead, and execute sales strategies to meet qualitative and quantitative targets for products, systems, and services.
  • Direct, develop, and coach the sales organization (sales managers and specialists) to achieve sales targets.
  • Anticipate and identify shortfalls in performance, taking appropriate remedial actions strategically.
  • Identify and evaluate new opportunities with existing and potential customers, determine implementation plans, and allocate required resources.
  • Plan and execute customer surveys and act on the results to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in the negotiation of key contracts and manage high-value tendering processes.
  • Manage and mentor an effective sales team, promoting collaboration and ensuring accountability to meet strategic objectives.
Qualifications
  • Highly skilled in structured sales processes, Salesforce CRM, and deep knowledge of the Energy Industries market.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in Energy Industries, with at least 5 years in senior front‑end sales leadership for automation, control, and digital solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership and people development, with effective ability to build and manage efficient teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of ICSS, PMS, SCADA, Telecommunication, and Digital Solutions.
  • Strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, leadership, and team management.
  • Degree in Engineering or Business; MBA.
  • Comfortable communicating in English and additional ASEAN languages.
  • Valid work permit/VISA for the ASEAN region (where required).
