OPPOLIA (part of the OPPEIN GROUP) is the Malaysia distributor of the largest high‑end kitchen cabinet manufacturer in the world. Our mission is to provide minimalist European‑style custom home furnishing products that are highly functional and modern, offering a full‑service, turnkey solution for whole‑house customization.
Position Overview
We are recruiting 10 individuals with a background in design to be trained to become Oppolia Designer or Oppolia Sales Designer.
Training & Development Programme
Under our two‑year programme, successful candidates receive training at our HQ in Guangzhou, covering:
- Cabinetry Design using our proprietary software
- Product familiarisation and integration into designs
- Sales and marketing via social media and other approaches
Candidates also participate in on‑job training across various departments in Oppolia Malaysia. Upon completion, they will be assigned to a department based on performance and interests.
Qualifications & Technical Requirements
- At least a diploma in design or a related field
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, etc.
- Ability to read and create technical drawings, shop drawings, and construction documents
- Familiarity with cabinetry materials (MDF, plywood, solid wood, laminates, etc.)
- Knowledge of current trends in cabinetry design
- Ability to troubleshoot design challenges and manufacturing constraints
- Proficiency in Mandarin to communicate with Chinese business associates and suppliers

Compensation & Benefits

Key Responsibilities
Sales Designers:
- Assist the sales and marketing function of the Group within the One Stop Home Improvement Mall (OSHI Mall) opening soon
- Work closely with the sales team to promote products and services
- Attend to customers (walk‑in or referred) and propose renovation ideas and products
- Coordinate with designers to deliver service to customers
Designers:
Design Development:
- Develop initial design concepts including space planning, color schemes, and mood boards
- Create detailed drawings and 3D models using CAD software
- Specify furniture, fixtures, finishes, and materials
Project Oversight & Execution:
- Oversee end‑to‑end design process from concept to delivery
- Ensure projects meet customers’ objectives, budget, deadlines, and quality standards
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and vendors
- Conduct site visits to ensure design appropriateness during construction
- Review and approve design deliverables
Collaboration with others:
- Work closely with marketing, product, engineering, and executive teams to align design with business goals
- Present design concepts to stakeholders ensuring practical design principles and client requirements are met
- Maintain strong client relationships and identify new project opportunities
- Partner with external agencies, freelancers, or vendors where necessary
