Job summary

A retail company in Penang is seeking candidates for department operations. The role involves assisting daily activities, maintaining quality standards, and providing customer service. Candidates should have a Secondary School/SPM/O Level qualification and be able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Responsibilities include stock management and ensuring product quality.   • Ensure all shelves are fully stocked according to FIFO and FEFO practices.
  • Perform daily checks on price change report for accuracy.
  • Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of the storage area and department.
  • Provide feedback regarding stock movement and propose stock ordering.

Job description
Responsibilities

To assist with the day to day activities relating to the department operation.

Maintain outstanding department condition with quality stocked and visual merchandizing standards.

Provide basic customer services by understanding customers' inquiries.

Understand all product category and maintain the quality of all products (Food/ Non-Food) as well as freshness (Dry Goods).

Replenish, forwarding and ensure all shelves on the selling floor fully good stocked of products according to FIFO (First In First Out) & FEFO (First Expiry First Out) practice with product category.

Perform daily check on price change report to ensure every product with correct price and description.

Ensure the correct information on POP cards and display according to company standard and government requirement.

Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of the storage area, selling floor and entire department according to company SOP.

Checking near expiry products & remove expired products according to company SOP.

Monitor correct temperature of the refrigerator and update the temperature sheet by daily basis. (For Chilled & Frozen/Dry Goods Department)

Provide feedback regard stock movement and propose stock ordering to superior.

Always provide good services to the customers.

Assist and support all sales, marketing and promotional activities.

Perform any other duties in general operational functions and ad-hoc assignments.

Job Requirements

Candidate must possess at least Secondary School/SPM/"O" Level or equivalent.

Able to read, write and speak in Bahasa Malaysia and English (basic communication will do).
