Safety & Security Manager / Asst. Manager
The Safety & Security Manager shall be responsible in assisting the Chief of Security & Safety in all matters pertaining to the providing, administering and maintaining of adequate and ensuring effective safety and security of guests, employees, and the hotel assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee strict access control procedures for staff, visitors, and vendors.
- Ensure that security checkpoints and surveillance systems are operational and regularly inspected.
- Develop, implementing, monitoring and maintain hotel Safety & Health SOPs and emergency response plans (ERP).
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA 1994, provides (the legislative framework for the safety, health and welfare among all Malaysian workforces), Fire Services Act, and all relevant health & safety legislation.
- Managing a team of security personnel and overseeing their training, scheduling, and performance.
- Conduct routine risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections throughout the hotel premises.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for all safety and security-related matters, liaising with local authorities as needed.
- Investigating and reporting on any incidents, accidents, or near misses, implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Ensuring the resort's compliance with all relevant health, safety, and security regulations
- Organize and facilitate safety trainings, fire drills, first aid simulations, and new hire inductions.
- To review monthly forecasts and schedule resources accordingly.
- Prepare and submit monthly and annual reports.
- Prepare monthly duty rosters, manage staff attendance, and ensure adequate manpower coverage across all shifts.
- Monitor members, guests, and staff parking behavior to ensure alignment with club policies.
- Collaborating with other departments to integrate safety and security considerations into the hotel operations.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar safety and security management role within the hospitality industry
- Thorough understanding of relevant health, safety, and security legislation and industry best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach
- Proven track record of leading and motivating a team of security personnel
- Proficient in the use of relevant safety and security management software and technologies
