Job description

Hospital Lam Wah Ee is seeking an experienced Safety Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of health and safety across the organisation. This includes identifying and mitigating workplace risks, implementing robust safety protocols, and fostering a strong, positive safety culture.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting regular safety inspections and audits at the workplace, processes, facilities, and equipment to identify and address any potential hazards.
• Developing and implementing comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
• Investigating and reporting on any accidents, incidents, or near‑misses, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborating with internal and external parties, and other stakeholders to integrate safety considerations into all aspects of our operations.
• Maintaining detailed records and providing regular reports on the Hospital’s health and safety performance.
• Assisting in organizing disaster preparedness drills, preparing relevant reports and meetings.
• Continuously researching and staying up‑to‑date with the latest industry best practices and regulations.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3‑5 years of experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role within the healthcare industry.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and other relevant legislation.
• Possession of relevant safety certifications and certificate of competency as a Safety and Health Officer.
• Excellent problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate safety risks.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing effective safety programs and training initiatives.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
