A leading construction company in Penang is seeking a Safety & Health Officer to oversee safety management at high-rise building projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety policies, coordinating with various stakeholders, and facilitating safety meetings. Candidates should possess at least an SPM level education, a valid Green Book, and strong communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia. Experience in high-rise projects and knowledge of construction safety regulations are essential for success in this position.
To lead safety management team to meet company's safety policy and plan, Government and Local Authority safety regulations, and Clients project safety requirements.
Responsibilities include ensuring safety measures and plans at construction sites are adhered to and in compliance with relevant regulations and requirements; communicating the company's safety goals and objectives to employees, vendors, subcontractors, and others; organizing and chairing toolbox meetings to resolve incidents, safety violations, or penalties; reviewing and updating safety performance data in management and site progress meetings; providing or recommending continual improvement plans for safety policy, objectives and goals; coordinating and leading the Emergency Response Team during accidents or emergencies; coordinating and conducting accident/incident investigations and following up on corrective actions; consulting and communicating on safety and health matters and implementing feedback from authorities and consultants; coordinating and organizing a safety incentive program to promote awareness, compliance, and adherence at project sites to support productive, incident-free, and timely project completion; and performing other duties as assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.
