Job summary

You will develop and implement safety and environmental systems to ensure compliance with regulations and promote a sustainable workplace. The ideal candidate has a diploma/degree in Environmental Science or related fields and 2+ years of experience in environmental compliance, along with strong communication skills and knowledge of ISO standards.

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Environment, Safety and Health Manager to join our team at Toshiba Elevator Manufacturing Asia Sdn. Bhd. in Seberang Perai, Penang. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining robust environmental, safety and health systems to ensure a safe and sustainable workplace for our employees.

Job Description

Support implementation of Occupational Safety & Health programs within the factory.

Ensure compliance with DOSH, OSHA, UBBL regulations and company standards.

Conduct safety training (PPE, fire safety, emergency response).

Investigate accidents/incidents and recommend preventive measures.

Prepare and review safety documentation (SOPs, incident reports, audit records).

Assist in developing safety strategies and policies.

Collaborate with operations, maintenance, warehouse, and delivery departments to ensure safety standards are consistently applied.

Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations (DOE, EQA 1974, etc.).

Manage environmental documentation including reports, permits, and audit records.

Conduct environmental awareness training for employees.

Oversee waste management, chemical handling, and pollution control measures.

Support internal and external environmental audits.

Liaise with government agencies (DOE, local authorities) on environmental matters.

Assist in developing and implementing environmental management systems (EMS/ISO 14001).

Diploma/Degree in Environmental Science/Engineering or related field.

Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental compliance within manufacturing.

Knowledge of DOE regulations and environmental reporting requirements.

Hands-on experience with ISO 14001 implementation and audits.

Strong communication skills in English and Malay.

Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM) is advantage.

Proficient in documentation, reporting, and MS Office tools.

Responsible, proactive, and able to work independently.

Active involvement in ESG initiatives (Environment, Social & Governance).

Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or Environmental Science/Engineering related field.

Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH is an advantage.

Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial/manufacturing safety roles.

Hands-on experience with ISO 45001 implementation and audits.

Strong communication skills in Main 3 languages.

Proficient in report writing, documentation, and MS Office tools.

Detail-oriented, disciplined, and able to work independently.
