Job summary

PDM BUILDERS SDN BHD is hiring a Safety and Health Officer (SHO) for our construction project in Malaysia. You will manage on-site safety programs, enforce regulatory compliance, and promote a zero-accident culture among workers.

Responsibilities include daily site inspections, risk assessment with HIRARC, incident investigations, safety training, and reviewing Permit to Work for high‑risk tasks. Fluent English and Bahasa Malaysia are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Green Book with DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health).
• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of working experience specifically in high-rise building construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspections to identify and mitigate high-rise hazards (scaffolding, fall risks, crane operations).
• Ensure site activities comply with OSHA regulations and DOSH guidelines.
• Develop and update Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) documentation.
• Lead investigations for near-misses or accidents and prepare statutory reports.
• Conduct safety training including inductions and toolbox talks, and provide high-rise safety training.
• Review and approve Permit to Work (PTW) for high-risk tasks like work at heights and confined spaces.

Safety and Health Officer (SHO) –Construction Project

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety and Health Officer (SHO) to manage and oversee all workplace safety operations for our construction project. The successful candidate will implement safety programs, ensure legal compliance, and foster a proactive zero-accident safety culture on-site.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Inspections: Conduct regular site patrols to identify and eliminate high-rise specific hazards (e.g., scaffolding, fall risks, tower crane operations).

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all site activities strictly comply with OSHA regulations and DOSH guidelines.

Risk Assessments: Develop and update Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) documentation.

Incident Investigation: Lead investigations for any near-misses or accidents, determine root causes, and prepare statutory reports.

Safety Training: Conduct site safety inductions, toolbox meetings, and specialized high-rise safety training for workers.

Permit to Work: Review and approve Permit to Work (PTW) applications for high-risk tasks like working at heights and confined spaces.

Job Requirements

Certification: Must hold a valid, registered Green Book with DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health).

Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of working experience specifically in high-rise building construction projects.

Skills: Strong knowledge of local safety legislation, excellent leadership, and clear communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Salary Range: RM 5,500 – RM 8,500 per month (Commensurate with experience and project scale).
