Job summary

A Dutch-Malaysian Private Higher Learning Institution in Johor is seeking an experienced ROV Instructor to join their training team. About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated ROV Instructor to join our training team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality training to aspiring ROV pilots and technicians, ensuring they gain the skills, knowledge, and competency required to operate Remotely Operated Vehicles safely and efficiently in offshore and subsea environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver theoretical and practical ROV training programs following company standards and industry best practices.
  • Train students on ROV piloting, maintenance, fault-finding, and operational procedures.
  • Demonstrate safe operating techniques using ROV simulators and live equipment.
  • Assess trainee performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain training equipment, simulators, and workshop tools in excellent working condition.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and training accreditation requirements.
  • Support the continuous improvement of training programs and teaching methods.
  • Stay updated on new ROV technologies, offshore standards, and industry trends.
Qualification & Experience
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of offshore ROV operational experience (Pilot Tech / Supervisor level preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of ROV systems, hydraulics, electronics, fiber optics, and subsea operations.
  • Previous instructing or mentoring experience is an advantage (not mandatory).
  • Recognized industry certifications (IMCA, OPITO, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to deliver training to diverse groups in both classroom and workshop environments.
