A logistics company in Klang City is seeking a Risk & Compliance Assistant Manager to oversee compliance frameworks. The role involves conducting investigations, monitoring compliance, and ensuring adherence to local regulations. The Risk & Compliance Assistant Manager will support the implementation and monitoring of the company’s risk management and compliance framework, ensuring operations align with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and guidance from the Head of Risk & Compliance (Singapore). This role involves overseeing the Malaysia Risk & Compliance Department, conducting investigative reviews, execution of compliance programs, and ensuring local operations comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Execute compliance checks and monitoring activities in line with policies, procedures, and directives from the Head of Risk & Compliance (Singapore).
Monitor and review compliance activities, escalating key findings and recommendations to the Head of Risk & Compliance (Singapore).
Prepare compliance reports and updates for submission to Singapore, highlighting issues, breaches, or trends observed in Malaysia operations.
Ensure operations comply with relevant national laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.
Support engagements with auditors, or external parties on compliance-related matters.
Conduct independent fact‑finding investigations into potential misconduct, breaches of policy, or irregular activities, outside the scope of routine audits.
Document investigation processes, findings, and recommendations in a professional and objective manner.
Collaborate with other departments where appropriate to ensure resolution of cases.
Provide follow‑up monitoring on investigation outcomes to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Assist in identifying and assessing compliance and operational risks within Malaysia.
Maintain records of incidents, breaches, and risk exposures, and ensure timely reporting to Singapore.
Contribute to risk registers, internal reviews, and business continuity efforts as directed.
Roll out compliance policies and guidelines within Malaysia, ensuring staff understanding and adherence.
Work with departments to develop and formalize policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and guidelines, ensuring alignment with compliance standards.
Serve as a first point of contact for compliance‑related queries in Malaysia, escalating complex issues as needed.
Support both internal and external audit processes with relevant documentation and follow‑up.
Implement and monitor internal control measures to strengthen compliance and governance practices.
Review and improve local compliance monitoring procedures in consultation with the Head of Compliance.
