Key Responsibilities and Performance Measures
- Lead and execute second line assurance reviews and ad hoc assignments, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of reports. Performance Measures: Timeliness and quality of outputs; relevance of findings based on stakeholder feedback.
- Provide subject matter expertise and leadership in asset and investment management-related reviews, including areas such as investment processes, dealing, and trade compliance. Performance Measures: Quality and depth of review insights; stakeholder satisfaction with findings.
- Leverage data analytics and automated testing techniques to enhance assurance coverage and effectiveness. Performance Measures: Proportion of controls assessed through analytics or automation.
- Maintain proactive engagement with business stakeholders to remain informed of key developments, initiatives, and risks. Performance Measures: Stakeholder feedback on the relevance and timeliness of assurance activities.
- Monitor internal and external risk developments and industry best practices, integrating them into assurance recommendations to drive continuous improvement. Performance Measures: Stakeholder feedback on the forward-looking value and applicability of recommendations.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7–8 years in internal audit or second line assurance roles within multinational asset management, mutual fund, or investment management organisations.
- Experience in compliance, investment operations, or sustainability risk is preferred.
- Prior exposure to data-driven auditing is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of fund management processes including investment and dealing, trade compliance, sales and marketing, and financial crime (AML, anti-bribery and corruption, fraud, and sanctions).
- Strong understanding of risk management, internal controls, compliance, and relevant auditing standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical concepts to non-specialist audiences.
- Analytical and strategic thinker with strong attention to detail.
- Proactive and innovative mindset, committed to continuous improvement and best practices.
- Team-oriented, collaborative, and adaptable to changing environments.
Prior experience in a regional or head office setting is advantageous.
