Job summary

A renowned retail company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Training and Development Specialist to manage HRD claims, coordinate onboarding programs, and deliver product and customer service training. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Business Administration or related fields, with at least 2 years of experience in training within the retail sector. Strong communication, presentation skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required. This position may require travel to various retail locations.

Job description
  • Manage HRD Corp (HRDF) claims, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate training schedules, attendance materials, and evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate training records, reports, and training cost tracking.
  • Liaise with internal teams, trainers, and external training providers.
Retail & Corporate On-Boarding
  • Coordinate and conduct onboarding programs for new retail and corporate hires.
  • Deliver modules on company culture, service standards, and basic operations.
  • Ensure consistent onboarding experience across outlets and departments.
  • Collect feedback and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Product Training
  • Support development and delivery of product training programs.
  • Ensure accurate product knowledge aligned with brand standards.
  • Coordinate product training for new launches, campaigns, and seasonal collections.
  • Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and operations teams.
Brand & Customer Service Training
  • Deliver brand-led customer service training aligned with company values and service standards.
  • Train frontline teams on customer engagement, service etiquette, and brand experience.
  • Reinforce service behaviours through role-play, observation, and coaching support.
  • Support consistency of customer experience across all touchpoints.
Job Requirements:
  • Degree in Business Administration, Psychology, Human Resources or related.
  • Professional qualification in Training & Development will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years of training & development experience in retail or similar industry.
  • Good presentation skills, excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable working within the team and with all levels of management and retail boutique team.
