Overview

The Retail Operations Manager, Malaysia plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence across retail stores in Malaysia. This role leads the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of retail operations, ensuring alignment with business goals and delivering exceptional customer and employee experiences. The Retail Operations Manager will act as a strategic partner to store teams, cross-functional departments, and regional leadership.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the development and implementation of retail operational strategies, processes, and standards across Malaysia to drive performance and efficiency.
  • Partner with the Head of Central Retail Operations to identify opportunities for operational improvement and innovation.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Malaysia stores and Regional HQ for all retail operations matters, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
  • Oversee the rollout of regional retail initiatives and pilot projects, ensuring timely execution and stakeholder alignment.
  • Monitor and analyze store performance metrics (e.g., conversion rates, sales vs. targets, KPIs) to identify trends and recommend actionable insights.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of retail team meetings, leadership visits, and cross-market collaboration.
  • Project manage end-to-end operational readiness for new store openings, retail events, pop-ups, including timelines, task coordination, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (real estate, construction, merchandising, IT, HR) to ensure smooth execution of store launch plans.
  • Develop and implement store opening playbooks and checklists tailored to the Malaysia market.
  • Coordinate training, staffing, systems setup, inventory delivery, and operational handover for new stores.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards and operational excellence from day one of store launch.
  • Support post-opening reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Retail Administration
  • Oversee procurement and vendor management for retail operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance.
  • Manage inventory levels for store packaging and supplies, ensuring timely replenishment.
  • Supervise access management and data accuracy across retail systems and tools.
  • Ensure timely distribution of uniforms and operational materials to store teams.
  • Coordinate and oversee stock take schedules and ensure compliance with procedures.
What You’ll Bring to the Table
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in retail operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Proven track record of driving operational improvements and managing cross-functional projects.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in a multi-store retail environment in Malaysia.
  • Ability to travel domestically regularly and to periodically to Singapore.
