Job summary

The Branding People Sdn Bhd, a Malaysia-based digital marketing agency, seeks a Video Editor (Social Media) to transform raw footage, voiceovers, and ideas into engaging short-form content for SEA brands. Youll craft 10 videos weekly, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and adapt storytelling across major social platforms.

Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and CapCut is required, with basic After Effects knowledge a plus.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience in video editing or content creation or a strong portfolio of short-form content.
• Proven ability to create engaging and visually appealing video content.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and CapCut; basic knowledge of After Effects is a plus.
• Experience developing storyboards and basic scripting.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet weekly video output KPIs.
• Strong understanding of pacing, sound, and visual storytelling.
• Knowledge of motion graphics or animation.
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools for video creation or editing.
• Experience with product videos, social ads, or e-commerce visuals.
• Excellent command of Mandarin and English (written and verbal).
• Awareness of current video trends and platform best practices.
• Open to feedback and eager to learn; training and support provided for the right talent.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and create engaging short-form videos (10 per week) for product and promotional campaigns.
• Edit video content for platforms like Facebook, Instagram Ads, TikTok, and Instagram Reels.
• Develop storyboards to guide visual direction and ensure cohesive narrative.
• Collaborate with media buyers, senior editors, designers, and marketing teams.
• Support pre-production and post-production workflows including shot planning and rough cuts.
• Incorporate stakeholder feedback to refine output.
• Apply basic AI tools to enhance content creation efficiency (bonus).
• Stay updated on video trends and platform algorithms.
