Job summary

Thoughtgears is hiring remote engineers to join UK client teams, working from South-East Asia. You will own infrastructure as code, manage Terraform on GCP or AWS, run workloads on Kubernetes, and build CI/CD pipelines.

You'll diagnose production issues from logs and metrics, explain decisions in English, and collaborate through client channels. This contract role offers remote work with flexible hours aligned to UK time, and a fair interview process.

Qualifications

• Hands-on infrastructure as code with Terraform, Pulumi or CDK.
• Hands-on Kubernetes: deployed workloads with kubectl or Helm.
• You read logs and metrics to diagnose production issues.
• Clear spoken and written English for technical discussions with a client team.
• Ownership: you explain what you did and why, and raise problems early.

Responsibilities

• Own the infrastructure as code for a client’s platform, usually Terraform on GCP or AWS.
• Run and improve workloads on Kubernetes, and choose serverless where it is the better fit.
• Build CI/CD pipelines that make deploying safe and routine.
• Investigate production problems from logs, metrics and traces, fix them and help stop them coming back.
• Work in the client’s own channels, stand-ups and reviews, and explain your decisions in English.
