Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is partnering with a growing Data, AI, and software solutions group to deliver scalable and secure data solutions. The role focuses on building and refining data pipelines and models in a modern data stack using SQL, Python, dbt, and Databricks.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of analytics/data engineering experience, strong SQL, Python, and Databricks expertise, and can collaborate with cross-functional teams across regional markets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or a heavily technical Data Analyst role.
• Advanced proficiency in writing complex, highly optimized SQL queries.
• Deep, hands-on experience using dbt for data modeling, testing, and deployment.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation.
• Proven experience working with Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake) to handle large-scale data processing.

Responsibilities

• Pipeline & Model Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models using SQL, Python, and dbt.
• Large-Scale Data Management: Process, transform, and optimize massive datasets efficiently within a Databricks environment.
• Data Quality & Governance: Implement testing and validation frameworks within dbt to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and consistency across all reporting layers.
• Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in existing data workflows and rewrite complex queries to improve compute efficiency and reduce costs.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into well-defined data models.
