Job summary

A leading global confectionery company is seeking a Regional Sales Manager for East Malaysia. This role focuses on driving growth in the General Trade business, leading a sales team, and expanding market coverage. The ideal candidate has a university degree in Business, relevant sales experience, and strong analytical skills. Proficiency in English and Bahasa is required, with Mandarin/Cantonese as a plus. The position involves travel across West and East Malaysia.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in sales, preferably in General Trade or FMCG.
  • Strong market knowledge of GT & ISM retail landscape in Malaysia.
  • Experience in the Sweet Packaged Food category is a plus.
  • Proven track record in distributor and key wholesaler management.
  • Willingness to travel across regions in Malaysia.

About the Role:

The role of the Regional Sales Manager for East Malaysia will drive the growth of Ferrero’s General Trade business, leading a high-performing sales team and building strong partnerships with distributors and key wholesalers. The role is responsible for achieving sales targets, expanding market coverage, and ensuring the flawless execution of trade strategies.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead distributor field teams to maximize store coverage and optimize call frequency and route efficiency
  • Conduct store audits and route analysis to improve sales effectiveness
  • Provide tools, training, and coaching to help teams meet KPIs
  • Communicate sales plans and initiatives clearly to field teams
  • Review team performance regularly and set clear, aligned sales targets
  • Ensure Perfect Store execution with the right product mix, placement, and visibility
  • Conduct business reviews with key customers and distributors to align on growth opportunities
  • Implement trade activation plans and ensure in-store execution
  • Collaborate on demand planning, inventory, and logistics to improve service levels
  • Identify market expansion opportunities using data and field insights
  • Partner with Trade Marketing to execute trade programs and evaluate ROI
  • Develop regional sales strategies aligned with company goals
  • Provide accurate demand forecasts incorporating trade activities
  • Drive new product listings and distribution expansion
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy
  • Deliver on KPIs including sales, distribution, trade spend, and team productivity
  • Ensure regional team performance aligns with strategic priorities
About You:
  • University degree in Business or related field
  • Relevant experience in sales, preferably in General Trade or FMCG, with strong market knowledge of GT & ISM retail landscape in Malaysia
  • Experience in the Sweet Packaged Food category (confectionery, biscuits, ice cream, etc.) is a plus
  • Proven track record in distributor and key wholesaler management
  • Willingness to travel across the regions in West and East Malaysia for meeting with Distributor Sales team, Key Wholesalers and store visits
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools
  • Fluence in English and Bahasa is required, Mandarin/Cantonese is a strong plus
