Job description

Emerging Tech is seeking a Board-Certified Radiologist to provide remote tele-radiology interpretation services for Veterans receiving care at the Albany-Stratton VA Medical Center in New York. This position functions as an on-call role, providing diagnostic support whenever the Albany-Stratton VA Medical Center requests coverage or when in-house radiologists are unavailable. The Radiologist will deliver timely diagnostic interpretations, support critical and routine imaging needs, and contribute to the VA’s mission of delivering just-in-time, high-quality care to our nation’s Veterans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-call final diagnostic interpretations for all transmitted imaging studies from the Albany-Stratton VA Medical Center in accordance with American College of Radiology (ACR) standards
  • Interpret imaging received via the VA’s secure DICOM/FIPS-compliant transmission systems and accessed through VA PACS
  • Dictate, edit, and electronically sign all imaging reports using the VA-approved voice recognition system, ensuring full integration into VistA/CPRS
  • Immediately communicate critical or significant findings to VA clinicians following ACR, VHA, and VISN communication policies
  • Provide preliminary interpretations for STAT exams in a timely manner, ensuring no significant deviation between preliminary and final interpretations
  • Participate in coverage during periods when in-house radiologists are unavailable or on scheduled leave, including same-day requests initiated by the VA
  • Maintain compliance with all VA credentialing, privacy, security, and annual mandatory training requirements, including ACLS, BLS, CPRS, and other VA-specific modules
  • Ensure all services meet or exceed national radiology standards, including ACR guidelines and all policies referenced in the Performance Work Statement
Minimum Qualifications
  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Board Certification in Radiology
  • Proficiency with PACS, DICOM, and voice recognition dictation systems
  • Ability to meet VA credentialing and onboarding requirements, including mandatory training (ACLS, BLS, CPRS, HIPAA, information security, infection control, VA TMS coursework)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver timely, accurate, and clinically actionable radiology reports
  • Commitment to clinical quality, accuracy, and adherence to ACR and VA documentation standards
