Job summary

A leading financial services company in Kuala Lumpur is looking for an accounting professional to ensure timely delivery of management and statutory accounts. The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Accounting or Finance, at least 2 years of experience in multinational companies, and proficiency in Mandarin and English. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Job description

This role is responsible for delivering & compliant management and statutory accounts on time and in full for all entities of the cluster, while supporting provides all accounting information necessary for local regulations (i.e. tax and legal requirements…) as well as supports GL & Reporting Process Champion to develop strong competencies to ensure excellence in execution and service level.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure all General Accounting activities within the cluster comply with Group standards and local regulations.
  • Deliver accurate and timely management and statutory accounts for all Country Business Units (CBUs).
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records, ensuring alignment between accounting systems and balance sheet positions.
  • Actively support the implementation of asset management systems, driving continuous process improvements.
  • Handle corporate insurance policies and coverage, ensuring adequate protection against potential risks.
  • Manage insurance claims to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure full compliance of management accounts with Group policies and statutory accounts with local laws.
  • Collaborate with the GL & Reporting Process Champion to ensure accuracy of all reported financial data.
  • Perform integrity checks on system interfaces and resolve discrepancies proactively.
  • Monitor and apply local GAAP updates relevant to assigned CBUs.
  • Maintain a robust internal control framework for accounting and closing processes.
About You
  • Understanding of Record-to-Report (R2R) processes, including systems preferably SAP, workflows, and data management.
  • At least 2 years in accounting or reporting related function for multi-national companies.
  • Experience in MS Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • University/College degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin and English is required
  • Good time management and prioritization skills; capable of delivering accurate results under tight deadlines.
  • Good team player with a spirit of cooperation and mutual support.
  • Fast learner, adaptable, and committed to excellence in task execution.
