Join Emerson as an R&D Test Engineer to develop and implement automated test platforms integrating hardware and software in a collaborative, innovative environment.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Work and interact with NI staff in R&D software and hardware organizations, and employees from other business groups in Austin, Texas and Debrecen, Hungary
- Perform research to develop or enhance test solutions
- Specify, design, test, and deploy automated test solutions for manufacturing computer-based instruments
- Define and implement project plans, manage milestones, and hold reviews to assure test system readiness for product release
- Integrate hardware and software to support manufacturing test for existing and new products using traditional and computer-based instruments
- Utilize programming skills to develop test applications running on desktop and industrial PCs
- Review and approve product specifications and customer user documentation
- Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge within the company
About You
The company is looking for:
- B.S. in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or mechatronics engineering
- Strong understanding of computers and high-level programming languages (LabVIEW, TestStand are an advantage)
- Thorough understanding of sources of measurement error, appropriate selection of instrumentation, statistical analysis of data, software design and architecture, and integration of hardware and software
- Passion for learning about and working with test industry technologies
- Strong work ethic and drive to succeed
- Fresh graduates are welcomed
- Preferred qualifications include ability to work effectively in group development environments, problem‐solving skills, initiative, independence, persistence, ownership of goals and schedules, attentive listening, quick learning of technology, and effective English communication skills
