R&D Manager

Job Description:

Connect Energy partners with one of the biggest transmission and distribution system company to look for the following position to base in their office in KL, Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Managing medium voltage products for AIS & GIS sections to meet industry standard and quality
• To provide technical support and compliance to customers' requirements
• Control and monitor new design schedule to ensure designs release are accurately aligned to middle schedule
• Control and manage development budget and progress by ensuring product development timeframe and product cost competitiveness are achieved
• Ensure product development specification is aligned to latest trends & technology in the market
• Extensive co-ordination with the type test design team for effective counter measure directive and quick response solution to optimize the type test shift strategy
• Responsible for the industrialization of AIS & GIS
• To manage the relevant product development for double tax exemption
• To manage lab's maintenance, equipment repair and calibration
• Carry out general managerial roles to ensure compliance with Company's policies develop the talent capability via training to ensure they acquire effective use of Company's assets, establish good internal & external relationship and communication and to be a good role model.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
• Min. 7 years experience in switchgear design & development jobs or mechanical / electromechanical design & development jobs
• Possess rich experience in switchgear full development cycle (AIS/GIS - in depth working principal of key operation entity such as Switching Component, draw out component, circuit breaking device, enclosure structure and grade level against IP rating and IAF
• In depth understanding in International standards relevant to design and development of switchgear / key components etc and provide precise interpretation for clarify of design concept and direction
• Advanced level in drawing drafting standard & practical geometry tolerance
• Advanced level in switchgear design methodology, calculation, analysis
• Advanced level in design for manufacturability, switchgear design standard, switchgear related engineering knowledge, switchgear routine, type testing
• Excellent technical project & overall team management
• Excellent time management and problem solving
• Advanced knowledge on local & overseas market requirements
• Proficient in analytical & communication skills
• Willing to travel out of state and overseas.
