Job summary

Ambu A/S is seeking a Section Manager, R&D Lab Operation to base in Penang, Malaysia. You will lead a team responsible for R&D laboratory testing, verification activities, and lifecycle engineering support across Ambu's portfolio, ensuring governance and compliance in a regulated environment.

You will collaborate with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Product Development teams to drive operational excellence and timely delivery of projects in a dynamic international setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
• At least 5 years of leadership/management experience in a lab engineering, testing, verification, or product development environment.
• Experience establishing and maintaining laboratory governance and quality‑compliant testing environments.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, engineering process controls, and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead lifecycle engineering strategies, projects and initiatives to support product improvements and process optimization.
• Oversee day‑to‑day R&D laboratory operations, testing, verification, governance, and storage management.
• Coach and develop engineers and technicians through performance management and resource planning.
• Plan annual objectives, budgeting, capacity planning, and project prioritization.
• Provide technical leadership and hands‑on support in lab testing and investigations as needed.
• Drive design changes and lifecycle management in compliance with procedures and regulatory standards.
• Establish and improve laboratory governance to ensure stability, reproducibility and compliance.
• Collaborate with global cross‑functional teams to deliver product and business objectives.
