Job summary

Ambu is seeking an R&D Lab Engineer to conduct laboratory testing and validation to ensure product safety and performance. The role covers calibration, IQ, and validation documentation, with opportunities to contribute to product development and lifecycle initiatives.

You will mentor interns, support test method validation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in a medical device environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering or related field.
• Significant experience in lab or medical industry.
• Familiarity with Power Apps, Power Automate, and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory testing and validation to ensure accurate, reliable results for product safety and performance.
• Support Product Engineering projects through laboratory verification and process improvements.
• Manage calibration, preventive maintenance, and IQ activities for laboratory equipment.
• Develop and maintain validation protocols, reports, and technical documentation.
• Analyze test data, perform root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
• Support R&D procurement, logistics, inventory management, and laboratory admin activities.
• Support test method validation and Life Cycle Management projects.
• Mentor and guide R&D Laboratory interns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ambu is currently looking for a R&D Lab Engineer.

This position reports to the Section Manager for R&D Lab Engineering. If you are from medical device industry with experience in any R&D function, this position would be suitable for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory testing and validation activities to ensure accurate, reliable, and compliant results supporting product safety and performance.
• Support Product Engineering projects through laboratory verification, process improvements, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Manage calibration, preventive maintenance, and qualification of laboratory equipment, including Installation Qualification (IQ) activities.
• Develop and maintain validation protocols, reports, and technical documentation in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze test and validation data, perform root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions to improve equipment and process performance.
• Support R&D procurement, logistics, inventory management, and laboratory administrative activities.

Additional Responsibilities

• Support test method validation and Life Cycle Management (LCM) projects.
• Mentor and guide R&D Laboratory interns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development, verification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
