Job summary

A construction firm in Malaysia is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to oversee contract management and prepare cost estimations. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Survey or equivalent, and preferred experience in either Pre- or Post-contract works. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is required, while Mandarin is an advantage. The role involves managing contractor claims, preparing reports, and participating in tendering processes.   • Prepare and ensure timely submission of Contractors Monthly progress claim and sub-contractor’s certificate for International (Saudi project) building works.
  • Assist the Assistant Contract Manager to prepare reports and variation orders.
  • Prepare final accounts of main contract and sub-contracts.
  • Implement cost control procedures.
  • Responsible in taking off quantities and calling for quotations.
  • Check quantity and advise purchaser on materials to be ordered.
  • Carry out other job assignments as and when required by the immediate superior
  • To participate in tendering for new projects.
  • Prepare Tender Documents including BQ and cost estimation.
  • Review and analyse cost studies and budget.
  • Evaluate tenders from contractors/sub-contractors.
  • Appointment of contractors/sub-contractors and prepare letter of award.
  • Carry out other job assignments as and when required by the immediate superior.
  • Ad-hoc assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Quantity Survey or equivalent.
  • Preferably with experience in either Pre- or Post-contract works (construction projects).
  • At least 1 year of working experience in the related field for Executive and 3 years for Senior Executive.
  • Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin will be an additional advantage.
