Job summary

A construction company located in Subang Jaya, Selangor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to handle cost estimates and manage project budgets. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying and 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in painting or architectural projects. Responsibilities include preparing tender submissions, evaluating quotations, and conducting site measurements. Strong skills in negotiation, cost estimation, and a working knowledge of MS Excel and AutoCAD are essential for success in this role.

Quantity Surveyor (QS)

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions for painting and finishing works.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and requirements to determine material, labour, and equipment costs.
• Conduct site measurements and prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ).
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations; ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
• Manage project cost control, monitor budget vs actual cost, and highlight any cost variance.
• Prepare progress claims, variation orders (VO), and final accounts.
• Liaise closely with project managers, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Assist in contract administration, documentation, and compliance requirements.
• Attend site meetings and perform site visits whenever required.

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or related field.
• At least 1–3 years of QS experience (painting, architectural, or ID works experience is an advantage).
• Fresh graduates with internship/related experience are welcome to apply.
• Strong knowledge of cost estimation, measurement, and contract administration.
• Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD (basic), and standard QS tools.
• Good negotiation skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
