Job Description

The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality and efficiency of incoming material inspections. This role involves coordinating inspections, handling nonconforming products, maintaining measuring instruments, and implementing the company's quality and environmental management systems.

Basic Qualifications
  • Preferable a diploma/bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in inspection and testing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with basic Office software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Knowledge of hazardous chemicals, oil-containing waste, solid waste, and fire-related environmental management requirements.
  • Strong team player with effective problem‑solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of incoming parts and materials, including samples and PPAP.
  • Ensure the quality of incoming materials through thorough inspection processes.
  • Process, register, analyze, and implement continuous improvements for nonconforming products.
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of measuring instruments used during inspections.
  • Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA) for measuring equipment.
  • Collect, file, identify, and store inspection records, including supplier reports.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update incoming inspection guidelines.
  • Promote adherence to safety and quality protocols among inspection personnel.
  • Manage the protection, use, storage, and emergency response of dangerous goods during inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with safety production operating procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Execute 5S activities and manage the maintenance and inspection of safety and fire facilities.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Ability to use measuring instruments such as CMM, gear meter, altimeter, roughness meter, projector, profilometer, and durometer.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and develop measurement methods based on specifications.
  • Ability to analyze inspection data and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Malay, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using computers and standard office software.
  • Strong ethics and integrity in carrying out responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills to manage inspection activities effectively.
  • Experience or affinity in automotive gearbox systems or similar components.
