Advanced Energy in Penang seeks an experienced Quality Manufacturing System Specialist to establish and harmonize site-wide QMS compliant with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 and manage document control workflows.

The ideal candidate will mentor cross-functional teams, lead internal audits, and drive continuous improvement to bridge operational excellence with customer quality interfaces across manufacturing and labs.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years relevant experience in Quality Management systems.
• Mandatory requirement for QMS working knowledge and internal auditor certification.
• Hands-on proficiency with internal/external audits and practical problem-solving methods.
• Familiar with ISO9001 & ISO17025 requirements, and internal auditor certification preferred.
• Strong data analysis and ability to present quality issues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Quality System Management: maintain and improve the QMS documentation and control.
• Establish ISO17025 quality management system alignment for testing/calibration.
• Provide QMS input during product transfers and line qualifications; ensure readiness.
• Audit Management: plan, schedule, and perform internal audits; support external audits.
• Track audit findings and corrective actions; maintain audit readiness across departments.
• Support cross-site QA efforts and supplier audits; drive CAPA and process improvements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to ensure product quality.
• Deliver QMS training and support change control processes.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manufacturing System Specialists to establish, and harmonize site-wide Quality Management Systems (QMS) compliant with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards, and manage corporate document control workflows, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

The ideal candidate will have strong background of administration of departmental policies and procedures in manufacturing and laboratories and hands on experience to mentor and organize with cross functional team for internal audit with high-level continuous improvement initiatives to bridge the gap between internal operational excellence and customer quality interfaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Quality System Management
• Maintain and improve the QMS: procedures, work instructions, forms, and document control; ensure controlled, current, and accessible documentation.
• Establish ISO17025 quality management system that ensures technical competence and reliable testing or calibration results.
• Provide QMS input during new product transfers and new line qualifications; ensure process readiness and validation evidence are in place.
• Audit Management
• Plan, schedule, and perform internal audits according to the audit plan.
• Support external audits from customers, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies.
• Track and close audit findings and corrective actions.
• Maintain audit readiness across all departments.
• Support the other manufacturing sites for new system setup or cross audits
• CAPA & Problem-Solving
• Lead root cause analysis activities using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, or Fault Tree Analysis.
• Manage the internal audit system, including initiation, investigation, action planning, implementation, and verification of effectiveness.
• Track CAPA trends and report on status and performance.
• Training & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Deliver QMS training to build quality awareness and understanding across teams.
• Support change control processes to ensure risks are assessed and changes are properly documented.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and other functions to ensure product and process quality.
• Provide QMS-related input during product development and process validation.
• Compliance & General Duties
• Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the production processes and components, business and other technology including materials.
• Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care
• Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat Penang.
• AE is a highly dynamic, technically challenging, and fast-paced manufacturing work place.
• Works in a Standard office environment, fast-paced & busy manufacturing areas / labs, and clean-room environment.
• Frequent visits to production areas are required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• English communication skills in verbal and written.
• Familiar with ISO9001 & ISO17025 requirements, and internal auditor certification is preferred.
• Solving problem skills, able to coordinate people from different departments for quickly solving quality issues.
• Data analysis ability, able to find potential quality issues as early as possible.
• Skills of basic quality tools and quality improvement tools.
• Creative ability, technical skill and independent judgment ability.
• PC skills, can properly present quality issues and reports with Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
• Ability to follow equipment calibration requirement and process.
• Understanding of ESD compliance, calibration processes, and workmanship standards.

EXPERIENCE

Essential

• 3-5 years relevant experience in Quality Management systems.
• Mandatory requirement for QMS working knowledge and internal auditor certification.
• Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating teams and managing multiple small projects and/or one larger complex initiative.
• Hands‑on proficiency with internal/ external audit and practical problem‑solving methods.

Preferred

• Skills in electronics assembly with technical governance over ANSI/ESD S20.20 system compliance.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
