Job summary

SMIS GROUP OF COMPANIES - AUTOMOTIVE DIVISION seeks a diligent Laboratory QA/Calibration Specialist to oversee calibration, MSA and testing of products and components. The role ensures the laboratory's management system compliance and coordination with the QM team on daily lab operations.

You will plan, execute and monitor tests per documented procedures and standards (Customer Spec, JIS, ASTM, etc.), maintain records, and handle sample testing, test reports, and housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of Management System Requirements related to laboratory, calibration and MSA – AS 9100, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 17025

Responsibilities

• Oversee, coordinate & perform calibration, MSA and testing of product/ semi-finished product/ component/ child part.
• Maintain and ensure compliance of the Management System of Laboratory
• Liaise with QM Executive/ Manager and be responsible for day-to-day operations of the Laboratory.
• Plan, execute and monitor testing according to documented procedures and relevant standards and update test results in test reports.
• Perform laboratory related duties including register incoming samples; perform sample testing activities for development, monthly and annually, compilation of test report, record keeping, and testing requests.
• Report nonconforming work to superiors and take appropriate action.
• Responsible for test sample retention and record keeping; preventive maintenance/verification of equipment; ensure calibration of lab equipment.
• Plan, execute and monitor calibration of measuring equipment; perform MSA as planned.
• Be responsible for upkeep of the work environment and lab housekeeping; ensure authorized access to lab.
• Maintain ISO 17025, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS 9100 compliance; ensure no outside food/drink in lab.
