A leading IT services firm in Malaysia is seeking an ITDR Coordinator to assist in strategic oversight and coordination of disaster recovery activities. The role demands a minimum of 3 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree in IT infrastructure management. The position involves defining policies, conducting drills, and ensuring compliance with governance requirements.

Job description

To assist the ITDR Manager in providing strategic oversight, coordination, and governance of all ITDR activities, ensuring that the organization’s ITDR capability is well-governed, regularly tested, and aligned with business requirements and risk mitigations, thereby assuring efficient restoration of IT services from disruptions.

Define and maintain the organization’s ITDR policy, standards, and procedures aligned with the BCMS and ISMS programmes.

Establish a governance structure for ownership and accountability of recovery processes to ensure robust business continuity and disaster recovery (DR) planning.

Act as the central coordinator between infrastructure, application, and business units to ensure DR plans are synchronized and interdependencies are identified.

Plan and coordinate periodic DR drills, ensuring consistency in scope, methodology, and documentation across all teams.

Ensure that DR documentation and test outcomes meet compliance requirements.

Review post-DR reports and provide updates and recommendations to the BCM Steering Committee.

Facilitate Business Impact Analyses (BIA) for the IT environment to ensure recovery priorities reflect business criticality.

Maintain a central register of DR issues and coordinate remediation progress.

Organize and conduct ITDR awareness and training sessions when necessary to enhance staff understanding and preparedness.

Minimum Years of Work Experience: At least 3 years

Academic Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in IT infrastructure and system management

Infrastructure architecture, virtualization, storage, backup/restore, replication technologies, cloud, and recovery strategies

Documentation development, maintenance, and continuous process improvement
