Job description
Job Purpose

To assist the ITDR Manager in providing strategic oversight, coordination, and governance of all ITDR activities, ensuring that the organization’s ITDR capability is well-governed, regularly tested, and aligned with business requirements and risk mitigations, thereby assuring efficient restoration of IT services from disruptions.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain the organization’s ITDR policy, standards, and procedures aligned with the BCMS and ISMS programmes.
  • Establish a governance structure for ownership and accountability of recovery processes to ensure robust business continuity and disaster recovery (DR) planning.
  • Act as the central coordinator between infrastructure, application, and business units to ensure DR plans are synchronized and interdependencies are identified.
  • Plan and coordinate periodic DR drills, ensuring consistency in scope, methodology, and documentation across all teams.
  • Ensure that DR documentation and test outcomes meet compliance requirements.
  • Review post-DR reports and provide updates and recommendations to the BCM Steering Committee.
  • Facilitate Business Impact Analyses (BIA) for the IT environment to ensure recovery priorities reflect business criticality.
  • Maintain a central register of DR issues and coordinate remediation progress.
  • Organize and conduct ITDR awareness and training sessions when necessary to enhance staff understanding and preparedness.
