A leading engineering firm in Shah Alam is seeking an experienced professional to lead testing and commissioning of electrical switchboard systems. The role involves mentoring junior technicians, ensuring compliance with international safety standards, and conducting preventive maintenance. Candidates should have a Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering and 3-5 years of relevant experience. Strong technical knowledge and excellent problem-solving skills are essential. This position offers the opportunity to work independently and manage multiple priorities while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Report to QAQC & SERVICE ASSISTANT MANAGER
Work independently with minimal supervision; lead and guide junior technicians during site activities.
Perform advanced on-site testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and rectification of switchboard systems to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards.
Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues, implement modifications, and recommend improvements for reliability and efficiency.
Take the lead in addressing punch list items and coordinating with service & project engineers to achieve project completion deadlines.
Plan and conduct preventive maintenance, ensuring early detection and resolution of potential issues to minimize downtime.
Ensure proper documentation of all service activities, including test results, modifications, repairs, and punch list rectifications, with a focus on accuracy and traceability.
Provide technical input for root cause analysis, drive corrective and preventive actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Train and mentor junior technicians and clients on operation, maintenance, and rectification procedures.
Handle direct client communication when required, providing professional technical support and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by management from time to time.
Report to QAQC & SERVICE HOD.
Support QAQC supervisors by leading factory quality inspections, testing, and acceptance procedures.
Share knowledge on new switchgear technology and train QAQC team members to enhance competency.
Assist QAQC teams in ensuring compliance with ISO, safety, and company quality standards.
Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by management from time to time.
Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Chargeman, Wireman, or other certified technical competencies preferred).
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in switchboard servicing, testing, or QAQC roles (experience in leading site teams is highly advantageous).
Strong technical knowledge of electrical switchboard systems, components, and international safety standards.
Proven ability to lead teams, mentor juniors, and liaise effectively with clients and management.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform under pressure in fast-paced environments.
Flexibility to travel for site assignments.
Valid driving license and clean driving record.
