Job description

The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all construction works comply with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and relevant Malaysian regulations. The role involves implementing Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems, conducting inspections, and coordinating with consultants, contractors, and site teams to achieve required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance (QA)

Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) in accordance with ISO 9001 and project requirements.

Prepare and review Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), checklists, and quality procedures.

Ensure compliance with CIDB standards, QLASSIC & contract specifications.

Monitor document control processes including drawings, specifications, and quality records.

Conduct internal quality audits and coordinate external audits.

Quality Control (QC)

Perform site inspections for civil, structural, architectural, and M&E works.

Ensure materials delivered to site comply with approved material submissions.

Coordinate inspections with consultants and authorities.

Monitor testing activities (concrete, soil, materials, etc.) and review test results.

Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.

Maintain quality records and inspection reports.

Coordination & Reporting

Liaise with Project Manager, Site Engineers, Consultants, and Subcontractors on quality matters.

Attend site meetings and provide quality-related input.

Prepare weekly and monthly QA/QC reports.

Support project handover and final documentation.

Requirements & Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

Minimum 1–3yearsof QA/QC experience in construction projects in Malaysia.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Familiar with CIDB, DOSH, BOMBA, and local authority requirements.

Experience in inspection and testing of construction works.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Strong documentation, communication, and coordination skills.

Able to work independently and under site conditions.

Preferred Skills

ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification.

Experience in high-rise building or infrastructure projects (Industrial Factories & Warehouses).

Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
