Duties & Responsibilities
- Create standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for food safety and quality management.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of store facilities and focus on ensuring food safety & quality standards and identifying areas for improvement.
- Maintain a robust documentation system for all food quality and safety-related activities.
- Responsible for examining food products for quality and safety.
- Conduct supplier audits to ensure that they meet food safety and quality standards.
- Continuously assess and update food safety and quality procedures to ensure they align with the latest industry best practices and regulatory requirement
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Create, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Assist in preparing for internal and external audits by ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accessible.
- Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to mitigate food quality and safety concerns.
Job Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Food Technology or a related field is often required.
- Previous experience in food safety and quality assurance is typically required. This may include experience in auditing, quality assurance, quality control or food production.
- Experience specifically in the convenience store industry or similar retail food environments can be a plus.
- Familiarity with international food safety standards like HACCP and ISO 22000 is beneficial.
- Proficiency in auditing techniques including conducting on-site inspections, reviewing documentation, and assessing compliance with food safety and quality standards.
- Keen attention to detail is crucial to identify potential food safety and quality issues.
